Holiday farm with new, high-quality flats - panoramic view
Hautnah miterleben, wie es auf einem richtigen Bauernhof zugeht. Den Blick Richtung Zugspitze schicken. Ferienwohnungen genießen, die nicht nur ganz neu - sondern mit vielen liebevollen Holzdetails von uns eingerichtet wurden. Willkommen auf dem Wangarhof - dem Logenplatz im Oberallgäu. Wir, Elisabeth und Christian Weber sowie unsere drei Kinder Vreni, Benedikt und Leonie freuen uns auf Sie.
Location & Size
The history of our farm probably dates back to the 17th century. Christian's grandfather once bought it and we now run it with great commitment in the third generation. By the way, his farm name "Wangar" is derived from the "Wagnerei" (wainwright's workshop) that was once run here on the farm.
The Wangarhof is located in the small hamlet of Bachtel - a good five minutes from the village of Oy-Mittelberg, which is one of the highest communities in Germany at 1035 metres above sea level. Kempten is 25 km away, Immenstadt and Füssen with its nearby royal castles about 30 km and Tyrol is also very close from us. You can enjoy the summer at the Schwarzenberger Weiher, which is within walking distance, or the Grüntensee, the nearby Rottachspeicher and the many other bathing waters in the area.
Our two holiday flats are located on the top floor of our farm, which was completely rebuilt in wood in 2021. We have named them "Zugspitze" and "Säuling" - because the view from the covered balconies is simply breathtakingly beautiful. We have equipped the kitchens as if we were using them ourselves. Fixtures and beds are made of solid wood - in part even from the historic beams of the original farmhouse. Since Christian is a carpenter, some things come from his workshop: for example, the stairs to the gallery or the partition wall made of wooden discs on the larch balcony. As you can see, natural comfort is the order of the day here.
Farmyard experiences
Compared to the big ones, we are a rather small sideline farm. Here, farming is still done in its original form. Our twenty or so female cows are milked in the barn and are allowed to graze on our lush meadows throughout the summer, from where we "herd" them in for milking every day. Farmer Elisabeth and farmer Christian take great pleasure in showing young and old what it means to run a real farm. They can milk the cows, look after the calves and actively help in the barn. For this purpose, we have set up a boot room where the stable clothes can be aired out and washed in peace.
In addition to our cows and young cattle, which spend the summer on the pasture, our Haflinger Attila and our pony Scarlett also feel at home with us. Here, too, you can help with cleaning and grooming - and by arrangement, we offer guided riding along a truly idyllic route through meadows and forest or to the Sticher Weiher pond, which is only a few minutes away. Our rabbits also want to be looked after and stroked - and Lotta, our house cat, is also happy about loving holiday guests.
What is especially close to our hearts? Bringing children and their parents closer to nature, the animals and real life on a farm.

Beyond the holiday season
In autumn, when the leaves turn golden and colourful, peace returns to us. Ideal for couples who would still like to go on mountain tours. For example, directly from our farm, without a car, to the Alpe Wildberger, to the Tannheimer Tal or to the Grünten, also known as the "Guardian of the Allgäu". We especially recommend spring: when the meadows glow yellow with dandelions, the snow has cleared the hiking paths and the birds are chirping in competition.
Experience the winter
We love every season. Because it paints the Allgäu mountain landscape in magnificently different pictures. When it's crisp and cold outside, you can go for wonderful walks, take to a variety of cross-country trails or choose between large and small areas for skiing: from beginners' slopes to high-alpine ski areas, for example in Oberstdorf. We definitely recommend our Ellegglift with its first-class ski school for the little ones. We all tried out our first bows there.
Highlights in the surrounding area
The Oberallgäu is known for its mountains, lakes, high moors and tranquil little towns. During the summer months, you can choose between small and larger lakes in the immediate vicinity, explore the hills and mountains by bike, whether moderate or really challenging. The Alpseebergwelt Immenstadt is definitely worth a detour - and for those who like it high alpine, we recommend the Nebelhorn in Oberstdorf. There are numerous wonderful playgrounds for families with children, for example the knights' playground in Pfronten. In winter, the ski resorts beckon - all of them are well prepared for families. What should not be missed? A trip to Neuschwanstein Castle.

Die Küche, wie auch das Wohn- und Esszimmer ist komfortabel ausgestattet. (Mikrowelle, Backofen, Dunstabzug, Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach, Spülmaschine, Kaffeemaschine, Toaster, Wasserkocher, Eierkocher)
Die Wohnung hat eine gemütliche Essecke, ein Sofa mit Schlaffunktion und Bettkasten, Fernseher mit Wlan und Radio. Bei Bedarf stellen wir auch gern einen Kinderhochstuhl oder ein Reisebett zur Verfügung.
