Location & size
What do our guests particularly rave about? The fact that the Nißl farm is situated on a hill from which you can look out over the beautiful town of Neunburg vorm Wald towards the chain of hills. We are surrounded by forests that invite you to take long walks. The town of Neunburg is only 500 metres away from our farm and can therefore be easily reached on foot. There are numerous shops and stores there that invite you to stroll around or enjoy an ice cream. The Palatinate town of Neunburg is known for its listed old town and the castle, which houses the Schwarzachtal Local History Museum, which is well worth a visit. Our four holiday apartments are well equipped and allergy-friendly – two are located next to each other on the ground floor and are ideally suited for families with children who are friends. While the adults sit comfortably on the terrace, they can keep an eye on their children playing. The adjacent barbecue area offers the opportunity to spend a pleasant evening together, and the children can bake bread on sticks over the campfire under the supervision of their parents.
Our ‘toddler weeks’ outside the holiday season are particularly attractive. Of course, we have cots and high chairs available.
Farm experiences
We are still a working farm – adults and children alike can gain a real insight into what it means to look after around eighty cows and their offspring. Of course, children and adults are welcome to visit the calf barn in the evening to watch and help with feeding, even the very small milk calves. A real highlight on our farm are certainly our six ponies of different sizes: Fritz, Ludwig, Poldi, Lilo, Susi and Max. We are happy to show parents how to groom and saddle the ponies and what they need to know about leading them with their children – and then, after consultation, send them off on their own: a shared family experience that is sure to remain a fond memory.
What else do we have on our farm? Lots of cats, a rabbit and our chickens.
For football enthusiasts, there is a football pitch and, of course, we have Bobby Cars, pedal tractors, tricycles and large go-karts available. A nice little cottage offers children the opportunity to play together. What else is there on our farm:
• A large trampoline
• Table tennis table
• Another playhouse with a slide
• Bicycles
• Swing
• And a lounge with table football and various games
Grandparents also feel very comfortable with us
Our ground-floor flats are particularly pleasant and very cosy for older people who are no longer so mobile. We are always on hand to offer advice and enjoy a chat or two. You can go on long hikes and bike rides directly from our farm – the famous Goldsteig long-distance hiking trail passes right by the Nißl farm.
Highlights in the surrounding area
Neunburg vorm Wald is located in the Schwarzach Valley in eastern Bavaria, close to the Czech border on a rocky plateau picturesquely overlooking the river of the same name. There are numerous museums, a truly beautiful old town, an outdoor adventure pool and a city park with many attractions. We are located in the middle of the Upper Palatinate Lake District – Murner Lake, Steinberger Lake with its adventure wooden ball and other lakes are only a few kilometres away. The Eixendorf reservoir can be reached in just ten minutes. We also recommend a trip to Regensburg, Amberg, Weiden or Schwandorf: the rock cellars are fascinating and the city tours, which are divided into different themes, are varied and exciting.
