Herzlich willkommen auf dem familienfreundlichen Dragonerhof! Hier, im Herzen des Frankenwaldes, können Sie den Duft von frischem Bergwiesenheu schnuppern und in ruhiger Atmosphäre die Nähe zu Natur und Tieren genießen. Ich, Benno Dressel, freue mich darauf, Ihnen einen unvergesslichen Urlaub zu bereiten.
Location & Size
The Dragonerhof is situated 540 metres above the deeply cut Zettlitztal valley in the hamlet of Deckenreuth, an idyllic 4-house village in the mountainous region of the Franconian Forest, which belongs to Stadtsteinach in the district of Kulmbach. Here, on the green hill in the immediate vicinity of the legendary Steinachklamm gorge, you can enjoy absolute tranquillity and fantastic views far away from the traffic - with a good view as far as Bad Staffelstein, which is around 40 kilometres southwest of the Dragonerhof. In our well-kept guesthouse with seven holiday flats and two double rooms, you can expect a lot of comfort, some of it at 4 to 5-star level, and a family service. We are happy to set the breakfast table for you in our cosy lounge, which offers space for up to 32 people as well as a painting and play corner for children.
Farm experiences
Do you love horses? Do you like riding? Or would you like to help with mucking out, feeding and grooming? On our part-time farm with 20 hectares of grassland and arable land you can spend as much time as you like with our four good-natured horses. As a guest with riding experience, you may ride Haflinger Billy and Quarter Horse Joy free of charge - both an indoor riding arena and a riding arena are available. If you prefer animals a little smaller, visit our funny dwarf goats Udo and Hansi or spoil our cats, rabbits and guinea pigs with loving strokes. Discover the natural monument, for example, on the Mühlenweg (Mill Trail), which begins in Presseck, or start in Stadtsteinach at the Alte Schneidmühle (Old Cutting Mill) by the blast furnace. From here you can take the FrankenwaldSteigla "Zum Forstmeistersprung" to the Nordeck castle ruins and finally to the wildly romantic Steinachklamm gorge. Are you interested in geology?
