Allgäu organic farm with quiet panoramic location
Im Frühjahr die gelbe Farbenpracht unserer Wiesen bestaunen, wenn es warm wird, im nahen Niedersonthofener See baden, im Herbst den bunten Blätterwald genießen und im Winter auf unsere verschneiten Gipfel schauen: der Ferienhof Mair liegt ruhig und sonnig mit Panoramablick. Wir, Claudia und Josef, unser Sohn Stefan und unsere Schwiegertochter Marion mit Enkelkinderfreuen uns auf Sie.

Location & Size
To say it right away: we have a view that always takes our guests' and our own breath away. Because in front of us, hilly meadows and forests spread out - and on the horizon shine our local mountain, the Grünten, which is also called the "guardian of the Allgäu" as well as the entire Allgäu mountain range. Our farm is located at 760 meters above sea level and is managed by us in the fifth generation. The original building was built around the middle of the 18th century and completely rebuilt by us 25 years ago.
Our plus is the wonderful central Allgäu location, because the high alpine mountains of the Oberallgäu are just as quickly reached as the West and East Allgäu. Ferienhof Mair is located in the tranquil village of Dietzen, a district of Immenstadt. Immenstadt itself is seven km away, Sonthofen can be reached in 20 min, Oberstdorf is 30 km away and to Füssen you need a good half hour.
We have furnished our vacation apartments comfortably, in rural style. They are located on the first or second floor and all have a south-facing balcony. You guessed it? The view from the windows and balcony is like a postcard idyll. There are enough seats also in the garden - in summer you can listen to the bells of the cows. We invite you to leave everyday life behind and recharge your batteries in the midst of our Allgäu mountains.
Farm experiences
Our farm, which we have been managing for several generations, is certified as an organic farm: species-appropriate husbandry, respectful treatment of our animals as well as nature are especially close to our hearts.
In addition to our mother cows, we take care of the pension cattle of our neighbors. Sustainability is part of our life - and actually always has been. With our solar system, the wallbox for e-cars as well as a charging possibility for e-bikes we like to go with the times. Children are of course allowed to participate in everyday farm life. Already in the morning, when the parents may even still be asleep, helping with feeding, mucking out and driving out to pasture. Since recently our new donkey Emma enjoys the country life - together with our Haflinger mare Stora. If required, we offer guided horseback riding for the children - a special kind of pleasure. Of course we have to take care of our two sheep Christl and Eve, the cat Mira, the chickens, the rabbits and our two goats Bella and Fanny.

Couple time at the Ferienhof Mair
During the vacations we are very busy with children - which makes us all very happy. But in October at the latest, calm returns. The leaves turn colorful and the hiking trails are no longer as busy as during the main season. Couples of all ages then feel particularly comfortable, still undertake bicycle tours, visit Kempten, Füssen or enjoy the high alpine mountains of Oberstdorf. Our spring is especially beautiful when the rich yellow blooming dandelions speckle the meadows. We always have rolls, eggs and milk - but from January to March we also offer a delicious breakfast.
Experience the winter in the Allgäu
Winter starts at our doorstep. When it has snowed heavily, the children race down our slope on our own sledges. They also try their first little turns on skis and build snowmen.
Stomping through the glittering snowy landscape on our winter hiking trails is always a special experience. Cross-country skiers go to Niedersonthofen or to the dream trails in Knottenried, skiing is possible within a 20-minute drive: to the Thaler Höhe ski lift, Ofterschwanger World Cup Express or to the Hündle mountain railroad.

Whether you are culturally interested, sporty active or culinary pleasure-oriented: in our beautiful Allgäu you can swim in the nearby lakes, Nordic walking directly from the farm, explore our extensive cycling network or visit the fine inns. We recommend excursions to the royal castles, to the Kleinwalsertal or to Lake Constance as well as to experience our tradition: you should definitely be present at a Viehscheid or experience an atmospheric sparkling fire in winter. In any case, we have countless tips in store.
